Give Hope to others by Telling Your Story!
Stories allow us to identify with others. They help us share our conflicts, and provide a way to understand and come to terms with the struggles we have experienced. The insight each of us have around what has helped and what has hindered our recovery journeys is invaluable!
There is a good chance others will find your story an inspiration and give meaning to their own recovery process. Please share your story with us, so we can share it with others. Your story can help others who need to hear there is hope and that recovery is not only possible, but also probable!
When putting your story together, it may help to keep the following in mind:
- How has dealing with a mental illness affected your life?
- Has dealing with a mental illness influenced your:
- Hopes
- Dreams, and
- Expectations for your life
- If dealing with a mental illness influenced your, hopes, dreams and life expectations, have you redefined these?
- How do you define recovery and what does this look like in your life?
- What has enabled you to live a meaningful life?
- What gives you hope?
- What do you do on a daily basis to maintain wellness?
- What type of mental health services have helped or hindered your recovery efforts?
- What has helped you deal with trauma?
