Our Partners

The Washington State Transformation effort cannot proceed without the partnerships within the Transformation Work Group (TWG) and across state and local systems that advance recovery and resiliency. Many of the strategies and projects launched by the Mental Health Transformation Project (MTHP) are anchored in the efforts of our many partners. Over the first two years of the grant, partners have initiated ideas, coordinated strategies with one another, and promoted transformation within their own organizations.

Transformation is limited by its budget and the five year grant cycle. In order for lasting changes to occur, sustainability is essential. Our partners are the best vehicle we have for seeing real, sustained change that improves services, ensures consumer-directed care, and attains systemic cultural change. As the TWG discusses policy and practice changes, our partners develop internal initiatives, request budget support, and coordinate activities with other partners.

The MHTP sees its role as supporting and facilitating the changes of our partners. We have provided this support through staff time and work in identifying networks, creating opportunities for discussion and providing direct consultation and training. Additionally, grant funds have been used to contract for the development of specific strategies that pursue the vision of TWG members and endorsed by the Governor's office. More than twenty funded projects have emerged from this work in the past year alone. As these initiatives unfold, they provide valuable learning for advancing recovery and resiliency, identifying needed policy improvements, and increasing our knowledge on effective approaches to Transformation.

You are invited to read about our partnerships by selecting from the menu at left. As we develop each new Partner page, you can learn about the organizations and individuals that are contributing to Transformation and review their projects. Please contact MHTP staff if you would like to learn more about Transformation or the work of our partners.
