Evaluation: The Team
There are several core principles that guide the evaluation of the Washington State Mental Health Transformation Project. These include having clear goals, using the Project's theory of change to drive evaluation activities, and being committed to using results and information that are produced.
In addition, the Project is committed to being evaluated by a diverse team, that has the ability to implement a truly participatory evaluation process. To this end, the Evaluation Team has consisted of individuals representing a range of roles and expertise, including:
- Consumers
- Youth
- Family Members
- Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) staff
- Mental Health Transformation Project staff
- Researchers (university and DSHS-employed)
- Representatives of provider organizations
During its nearly three years in existence, the Evaluation Team has benefited from persons representing all these types of expertise. Though members come and go based on individual commitments and interests, the Team has an active commitment to maintaining this diversity of perspectives.
