Crisis Intervention Training Toolkit
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training manual was developed by a committee of stakeholders from across Washington State with the intent to provide resources and guidance to agencies in developing crisis intervention teams. Individuals within these agencies should be adept in supporting those that are in crisis, have training in the various issues surrounding those in crisis, be able develop teams that have various expertise or experience in crisis intervention, and come from varied backgrounds such as police officers, fire personnel, Department of Social and Health Services personnel, and community members.
The intent is to provide suggested course materials, agenda, and delivery format as a starting point. It is acknowledged that each region may or may not have resources available to fulfill all of the sections outlined here.
